We believe that the Bible
is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God.
We believe that in the
beginning God created the world in six regular days by the power of His
Word.
We believe that the world,
which was perfect, became corrupted through the fall of Adam and Eve into
sin.
We believe that everyone
born since the fall into sin is born with a sin-fallen nature.
We believe that God’s
answer for sinful mankind is the promised Savior, in the person of His Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that Jesus
Christ was born of the virgin Mary.
We believe that by His
perfect life Jesus fulfilled the requirements of God’s Law as our
substitute.
We believe that by His
innocent suffering and death Jesus paid all the guilt of our sins so that
whoever believes in Him has forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
We believe that Jesus rose
bodily from the grave on Easter Sunday morning.
We believe that Jesus has
returned to the glory of heaven and rules the universe in the interest of
His Church.
We believe that Jesus will
return on the last day and that He will divide the believers from the
unbelievers. He will condemn the unbelievers to eternal suffering in
hell and He will take the believers to be with Him into heaven forever.
We believe that until Jesus
returns, He has given His Church the mission to make disciples of all
nations by preaching His word and administering the sacraments by which God
the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens faith.
We believe that while on
earth, Jesus instituted two sacraments, or sacred acts, that provide and
assure us of God's forgiveness. Through God's Word in connection with
earthly elements, the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper (or Holy
Communion) confer to us the blessings of forgiveness, salvation and also the
strength to lead God-pleasing lives.
